How I ended up here ~ writing this blog and creating art.
In 2005, I closed my private psychotherapy office in California and moved to Colorado. My plans were to complete the garden design and plantings at my newly constructed home while I thought about my next step as a psychotherapist. The week I planted the last native tall grass, I was rushed to the hospital with a ruptured brain aneurysm.
Fortunately, the surgery was successful. With the help of family and support from my friends, I worked toward adjusting to my "new normal". Now, things may take a bit longer, I rely on notes to organize my day, I am kind to myself and schedule time to just "be".
I decided that due to mild cognitive deficits and on-going fatigue (results of the brain incident) that I would semi-retire from my profession as a therapist. I turned to the one passion that had always been present in my life ~ art.
My time and energy is spent writing about sandplay, drawing, making collages, cards, and jewelry. In 2014, I opened my first online Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MyArtStudio1
I also sell miniatures and other vintage items at my Etsy shop RememberThat? (Link available on the blog homepage.)
Now, I am tackling this new adventure ~ the Myth Symbol Sandplay blog.
