Here it is...winter 2022. Happy holidays! All the best in the new year.
My declutter project has been going well with no longer needed items finding new homes and new owners. The end result is more space and less clutter. Now there is more breathing room and freed up energy (formally used up with background stress related to having too much stuff). Still have closets and basement to edit. I have also edited how I use my time and energy. The key factor driving this endeavor has been my need to have a more simplified daily life and more energy for more creative time.
Three garage sales, on-going donations, and sharing items with neighbors and friends have been made easier by the ability to let things go. It has taken a lot of organizing and a lot of work to stay on track to meet my goals. Do I need the bike I no longer ride? Do I want to bake like I used to or entertain with dinners or parties? Should I be climbing a very tall extension ladder?
I have had conversations with friends and family about this autumn stage of our lives. I live where there are distinct seasons. Autumn is typically a time to slow down in the garden as it prepares for winter. Also a time to allow for a balance of rest and activity. Shorter days and cooler weather require a change of pace.
I will be posting vintage items and sandplay miniatures soon. Stay warm, stay healthy.

Summer time is the perfect time for my whole house, garage, and garden declutter project. I am concentrating on editing everything. Have been busy going through every closet, box, nook, cranny, and square foot of my garden. Getting it all ready to sell, donate, and pass along to others to use. If I haven't used it...it needs to go. Since I have new interests it is time to release perfectly good but no longer needed items. (And, no, that is not a picture of boxes at my house.) Being focused on putting my energy into this monumental task has taken time and energy away from my blog. Good news...I have found more sandplay items that will be posted here and at my Etsy shop Remember That?
Hope you are having a good summer!

Hope you are managing all of the changes, chaos, and uncertainty during these very difficult times. I have been taking it a day at a time. I finally have the energy and interest to return to my blog writing and research. It will be an endeavor that will shift my focus away from all that causes distress and frustration with the current global situation. I will also be adding sandplay miniatures to my Etsy shop.
Peace and health...

Physical Therapy can be an amazing process. I am almost back to full functioning of my right hand and arm. And...I am happy to report...the pain from pinched nerves in my neck is so much better.
Please check back for new blog posts as I will be able to get back to blogging very soon! Looking forward to interacting with blog readers. Feel free to comment on posts - I would enjoy communicating with interested readers. Thanks for your patience and support.

Hello blog readers...
I am still recovering from pinched nerves in my neck that have caused a great deal of discomfort (she says wincingly). My right hand and arm are also affected with numbness, loss of strength, and coordination. Typing is a challenge! So is physical therapy.
I am on the mend, albeit slowly. I look forward to getting back to blogging as soon as I am able!

Upcoming posts will include information about the telling of stories and the many ways tales are told: dance, ritual, textile patterns, painting, and sand painting. In Native American Navajo "storytelling" using sand painting, it is not the story content but the healing spiritual power that is most important. May sandtray work offer therapy clients a similar experience.
Sand paintings, as created by Native American Navajo Indians, were not made to be an "art object," but rather were made as part of an elaborate healing ritual or ceremony. The artist, or in the Navajo context, the medicine man, would use naturally colored grains of sand, and pour them by hand to create these elaborate "paintings". Quote from artsology.com

Visited Denver Botanic Gardens last weekend to see the Viewing Stones exhibit. Exhibit ends Sunday, April 17, 2016. Photos and more information to be posted after April 15. (Going back to see them again...)
"Originating some two thousand years ago in China, the tradition of collecting and appreciating scholars’ stones has endured in contemporary times. Scholars’ stones are natural objects valued for their use in contemplation and for their representation of landscapes, animals, human figures or abstract forms. Closely related to the art of bonsai, the stones in this exhibit have been collected by contemporary artists, many of whom are members of the Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society."
